Lady Comets Bowl for Championship
Jackson, MI — Hanover Horton Girls Varsity Bowling team had a hard fought battle with the Napoleon Pirates tonight at Suburban Lanes. The team made up of Halle Curtis, Sofia Donders, Lana Gilliland, Madison Ashworth, Kaytie Warren, and Makenzie LaFountain knew how much this match meant as with a loss we would share the Conference title with Napoleon. We were neck and neck through the Baker games and lost the first but won the second and totals to go up 6-4 in points. Our goal was to focus as a team knowing that we needed to win the total score not just head to head match ups. The Pirates anchor shot a big 232 game giving them the win in the first team game by 57 pins. I knew though that the H-H girls are strong and very talented and it would be difficult for our apponent to beat us a second time. Everyone put forth their very best and shot a 781 to Napoleon's 719 game! With that effort we won totals by 5 pins and avoided a near tie winning the match 17 to 13!! So with this victory I am very proud to announce the Hanover-Horton Lady Comet Bowlers as the outright:

Bowling vs Homer
Albion, MI — Today at University Lanes your Varsity Lady Comet Bowlers competed against the Homer Trojans. We have shot some big games in this house and you could see the confidence on the girl's faces as they started out with baker games of 176 and 188 to take a ten point lead in the match. When starting the regular team games I had the girls keep the same line up and work to control the pocket. As the match went on it became a battle with making spares but they managed to gain another 8 points and win the match quickly. To keep things interesting the bowlers used last games stats to choose the line up. Spares were still tough to get as the mental side of the game was at play. With several strikes they put together a reputable 840 team game. With another test of their adaptability your Comets did well with a 28-2 win!! High games go to Makenzie LaFountain 203 and 214 for a 417 PR set and Kaytie Warren with a 189 (346) set. GO COMETS!!

Bowling with the Jayhawks ver 2
Jackson, MI — Hanover Horton Girls Varsity Bowling team had a match tonight against the Jayhawks of Vandercook Lake. The team made up of Halle Curtis, Sofia Donders, Madison Ashworth, Kaytie Warren, and Makenzie LaFountain shot a solid baker set with 159, 191 games for a 350 set winning the first ten points. The focus for the team tonight was to control ball feel off our hand each throw to the best of our ability. So are Comet ladies started attacking the lanes with some success but not quite the shot to put up big numbers. In the seventh frame we made some adjustments and the strikes started to come giving us a solid 827 team game. Coach changed the line up order for the second game as we shouldn't get too relaxed. Continuing from the finishing success of the first game the girls had fun, kept focus, and shot their biggest team game which I will mention below to win the match 28-2!!

Bowling with the Cardinals part 2
Jackson, MI — Hanover Horton Girls Varsity Bowling team had a match tonight against the Michigan Center Cardinals at Suburban Lanes. The team made up of Halle Curtis, Sofia Donders, Madison Ashworth, Kaytie Warren, and Makenzie LaFountain shot well in the baker games and captured 10 quick points to take the lead. Our Comets did there best against the odds as MC was in there home house and we had yet to play there this season. Struggling to get the pins we needed in the first game our opponents bowled above their averages and took all but 1/2 a point. Coach was determined and confident that the Comet Ladies could pull out a victory if the stuck together and found just enough strength and focus. Take a deep breath cause they did it!! In the second game HH took all but 1 point! What a grind that match was as we won 18.5 to 11.5!! High games go to Makenzie LaFountain 191, Kaytie Warren 186, and Halle Curtis with 183! Great Job, excellent sportsmanship, and Go Comets!!

Back to back weekend to play 2
Albion, MI — Yesterday was definitely a day to remember for our H-H Girls Bowling Team! The day started out with a hearty breakfast for the coaches to get our game face on and get ready to battle the Panthers from Addison and the Jayhawks of Vandercook. As the Comet roster of Halle Curtis, Lana Gilliland, Sophia Donders, Madison Ashworth, Makenzie LaFountain, and Kaytie Warren started to filter in to University lanes it reminded me of our last stop here winning our season first baker tournament. What would today hold for us? Oh boy it was exciting to be there. The ladies connected well for a deserving win in the bakers against Addison winning all 10 points. Addison has the leading scorer in the league as their anchor so every shot must be taken with focus and our best execution. With a combination of all time and season PRs we secured the win 27-3! High team game of 911, and series of 1675! High games go to Halle Curtis 178,215 for a 393 close if not PR series. Kaytie Warren 178, and Madison Ashworth 213 PR for now.

Quincy
Jackson, MI — Yesterday at Jax60 your Lady Comet Bowlers competed against the Orioles from Quincy. We are all about fun and keeping our bowlers on there toes so coach flipped our line up upside down for the bakers and had great success by winning all ten points available. When starting the regular team games I had the team pick there own line up with a rock, paper, scissors battle for the alternate bowler. The ladies struggled with lane condition that didn't have much down lane movement but still managed to secure the win in the first match. Second Match we adjusted our target zone and shot a solid 808 series. Testing adaptability is important to this game and your Comets did well with a 28-2 win!! High games go to Madison Ashworth 188, Kaytie Warren 171, and Sophia Donders 164! GO COMETS!!

Comets Part 2
Jonesville, MI — Tonight at L&J Lanes the H-H Varsity girls took on the Jonesville Comets for a second time. In the first baker game we did well trading marks and came out ahead to win. For some reason our spare game was lacking and our game could of been much bigger. Jonesville took the second game and totals to go up 6-4 going into team games.

Comets take to the lanes
Jackson, MI — The JV bowling teams lost to Jonesville in last night’s match at Jax 60. Even in a loss there are progressions to celebrate! The team made up of bowlers Gabriel O’Conner, Noah DeKamp, Jaxon Hart and Brooke Hadley each worked to improve their first game scores by five pins in the second game, a goal this coach gives them. This resulted in a PR for Noah in the second game of 124, and all four bowlers attaining the five pin increase. The other mixed team of Cooper Donders, Abby Barba, Ella Dekker, Kilee Feldpaush, and Grant Cure weren’t without their struggles but continue to find consistancy in their shot. Abby threw a 228 series and Cooper wasn’t far behind with a 215. The JV team meets Michigan Center on Wednesday at Jax 60.
