Jackson, MI — Hanover Horton Girls Varsity Bowling team had a hard fought battle with the Napoleon Pirates tonight at Suburban Lanes. The team made up of Halle Curtis, Sofia Donders, Lana Gilliland, Madison Ashworth, Kaytie Warren, and Makenzie LaFountain knew how much this match meant as with a loss we would share the Conference title with Napoleon. We were neck and neck through the Baker games and lost the first but won the second and totals to go up 6-4 in points. Our goal was to focus as a team knowing that we needed to win the total score not just head to head match ups. The Pirates anchor shot a big 232 game giving them the win in the first team game by 57 pins. I knew though that the H-H girls are strong and very talented and it would be difficult for our apponent to beat us a second time. Everyone put forth their very best and shot a 781 to Napoleon's 719 game! With that effort we won totals by 5 pins and avoided a near tie winning the match 17 to 13!! So with this victory I am very proud to announce the Hanover-Horton Lady Comet Bowlers as the outright: 2022-2023 Cascade Conference Champions!! GO COMETS!! #proudcoach, #statebound2023 Hanover Horton Boys Bowling team of Sabastian Ramsey, Nick Schuette, Landon Murrell, Lucas Cain, Jack Kittel and Joe Davis traveled to Suburban Lanes to take on the Pirates of Napoleon. The boys had plans to be a spoiler for the Pirates from clinching the Boys Cascades Conference Title. Heading into Bakers, Hanover kept the team dynamic going loosing first baker 169-186 and winning the second baker 200-192 taking 4 points. Heading into match play the Coach flipped the lineup for both games trying to get as many easy points as possible but only came away with 5 points with loosing the second game by only 12 pins. Hanover was defeated 21-9 which gave Napoleon the outright Boys Cascades Conference Title. (Congrats to Napoleon). Leading the way for Hanover was Jack Kittel 200 (372), Sebastian Ramsey 191 (376) and Joe Davis 254 (395). Next match is Friday 2/17 vs Grass Lake Warriors at Suburban (no bus) 3:00. The Comets won the Bakers 6-4 and never looked back. Defeating the Pirates 24-6 your Comet team was lead by Brooke with a new PR of 175 (301)!
