Albion, MI — Yesterday was definitely a day to remember for our H-H Girls Bowling Team! The day started out with a hearty breakfast for the coaches to get our game face on and get ready to battle the Panthers from Addison and the Jayhawks of Vandercook. As the Comet roster of Halle Curtis, Lana Gilliland, Sophia Donders, Madison Ashworth, Makenzie LaFountain, and Kaytie Warren started to filter in to University lanes it reminded me of our last stop here winning our season first baker tournament. What would today hold for us? Oh boy it was exciting to be there. The ladies connected well for a deserving win in the bakers against Addison winning all 10 points. Addison has the leading scorer in the league as their anchor so every shot must be taken with focus and our best execution. With a combination of all time and season PRs we secured the win 27-3! High team game of 911, and series of 1675! High games go to Halle Curtis 178,215 for a 393 close if not PR series. Kaytie Warren 178, and Madison Ashworth 213 PR for now. Next match was against Vandercook as the lanes became more challenging and dried out. We made alot of adjustment and the team was on fire, as Comets should be. We shot our team PR with a 391 baker set and gained 10 points. Unfortunately the Jayhawks did not field a full 5 person roster and the Comet girls won the match 28-2. More exciting PRs by Halle Curtis 178, Lana Gilliland 203, and a big PR 245 game from Madison Ashworth!! Again so happy to coach these girls. Thank you for your hard work and focus on our goals. GO COMETS!! On SatJan 21st, Hanover Horton Boys Bowling Team traveled to University Lanes for a doubleheader against the Panthers of Addison and the Jayhawks of Vandercook Lake. Hanover consisting of Lucas Cain, Sabastian Ramsey, Landon Murrell, Elijah Rodabaugh, Nick Shuette, Joe Davis and Jack Kittel. First match against the Panthers, Hanover came out strong winning both bakers 158-125 and 191-116. Moving into match play being up by 10 points the boys stayed positive and kept their foot on the gas taking 16 1/2 points to secure the win. Final score ended with a Comet win 26.5 - 3.5. Leading the team were Landon Murrell 147 (286) and Jack Kittel 212 (393). In the second match against the Jayhawks of Vandercook Lake, Hanover never missed a beat and again swept bakers 183-149 and 187-128. Moving into match play with a 10 point lead Hanover stay focused and only gave up 3 points. Leading the way in game 1 with a NEW PR of 189 by Nick Shuette. Final score ended with a Comet win 27-3. Leading the team were Nick Schuette 189 (335) and Lucas Cain 205 (397). Next match is Wednesday at Suburban Lanes against Grass Lake. Go Comets!!
