Wrestling finishes strong before a few days off for Christmas.
Today, we crossed the mountain to Amherst County High School for our final event before Christmas and the final Varsity event of 2022.

This past Saturday, we hosted our annual dual tournament. Alleghany, Parry McClure, Salem, Spotswood, Staunton, & Waynesboro all game to SDHS. we wrestled in 2 pools of 4. Salem had enough to make a B team. Then we wrestled 2 more matches to determine our final placement in the tournament.
This weekend, we competed in the Rivanna River Rumble at Charlottesville High School. As a team, we went 1-4 with losses to Charlottesville, Courtland, Amelia, and the Covenant School. We beat Monticello.

The Stuarts Draft wrestling season came to an end on Monday February 22 at the Salem Civic Center. Jaylee Hatcher battled at 113, but ended her tournament 0-2. Senior Asher Coffey ended his career with 2 quick pins in the first two matches and lost a nail biter 3-2 in the finals against a very good Lebanon opponent. Freshman Kyle Coffey got a 1st round bye, but was able to get revenge for an early season loss in the semi finals against James River. Connor McCall had a great tournament winning his first 2 matches with pins. He lost in the finals to Tazewell.
