Game 9 - Lions hope to get back on track towards a playoff berth

A second game on the road and third in a row brings the Lions to meet one of the top dogs in the conference - the Bethel Park Blackhawks (7-1). Bethel Park dropped a close ball game last week to Upper Saint Clair. The offense which typically boasts the highest outputs in the WPIAL was stymied in a 13-10 loss. The Blackhawks are led in the run game by SR RB Javaughn Moore. Returning to the lineup was the 2023 Allegheny 6 player of the year, Ryan Petras. Petras, who had shoulder surgery earlier this season. QB Tanner Pfeuffer was held under his typical output thrpowing for 141 yards (11 of 28). Defensively, the Lions see another stout D1 defensive line product in #43 Clancy Orie. Clancy is 6'3, 255 and is committed to play football at Navy.

Game 8 - Lions head on the road to continue the mission vs Peters Townships

After a tough battle versus top seeded Upper St Clair, the Lions start their three game road trip with a trip to reigning conference and WPIAL champion Peters Township Indians. The Indians are coming off of a bounce back win over Moon 23-14. This looks to be a defensive battle as both teams lead 5A in point given up with Peters Township giving up 65 points on the year and the Lions giving up 66.

#7 South Fayette set to battle #1 USC for top spot in the Allegheny Six

The Long-awaited conference slate started last week. The Lions (6-0) were able to take care of Baldwin (0-6) to begin conference play. But eyes quickly turn to the next opponent as the Lions will take on the top seeded Upper Saint Clair Panthers at 7pm on Friday. The biggest matchup that has come to South Fayette Stadium in recent memory, the Panthers play a physical brand of football and are led by a big OL and a veteran group of skilled players. Junior RB #1 Dante Coury and senior wildcat QB #2 Julian Dahlem each average over 100 yards rushing per game. #23 Van Hellman sets the tone for the Panthers as their lead hat in their run game. Defensively, the Panthers are anchored on the line by Senior #58 Nate Stohl. Stohl, who measures in at 6'3, 270, leads the team in sacks and TFLs. He is committed to Princeton to continue his playing career. Joining him as a future Tiger is fellow DL #87 Michael Albert (Sr, 6'3 260), who plays DE.

Game 6 - Lions look to continue to swarm versus the Highlanders on Homecoming

South Fayette returns back to home for a set of two games to open up Allegheny Six Conference play. The Lions (5-0) went into hostile territory last week with a 27-14 win over the Belle Vernon Leopards. The story of the first half was Coach Fronk and the defense. The defense held the Belle Vernon offense to a shut out through 47 minutes of the game with Belle Vernon scoring on an interception return and late in the game when it was out of reach. The front seven held Belle Vernon to 82 yards rushing on 32 attempts including holding the QB to 4 yards rushing on 16 carries - an emphasis for the defense.
