Here is a not-so-quick recap on our athletes’ performances at the state track meet.
Yesterday, we took a small number of athletes to the D11 Last Chance Meet. The goal for athletes in this meet is to qualify for the state track meet or to improve their seeding at state. Rather than enter full teams, T&F programs enter only select athletes in this meet. Our highlights included:
On Saturday, our sub-varsity athletes competed at Lewis-Palmer High School. This was an opportunity for our less experienced athletes to run with fully automated timing. LP chose to invite a small number of schools to the meet and allow each school up to seven entries per event, so we were able to take a very deep team to the meet. Unfortunately, at this time, we have only received results from the track events. I hope to see field event results soon. Some highlights:
The team really enjoyed getting to compete in such a great facility. CSU-Pueblo and their T&F athletes were amazing hosts. The theme for the meet was “Sprints in the Sun! Distance in the Dark!” The unique schedule provided a great environment for all of the on-track events. Pole vault in the dark leaves a bit to be desired, however…
