Cougars finish 7th with 3 silver medals

The Stuarts Draft wrestling season came to an end on Monday February 22 at the Salem Civic Center. Jaylee Hatcher battled at 113, but ended her tournament 0-2. Senior Asher Coffey ended his career with 2 quick pins in the first two matches and lost a nail biter 3-2 in the finals against a very good Lebanon opponent. Freshman Kyle Coffey got a 1st round bye, but was able to get revenge for an early season loss in the semi finals against James River. Connor McCall had a great tournament winning his first 2 matches with pins. He lost in the finals to Tazewell.

Draft Wrestling Finishes 4th in the Region

Today, @draftwrestling finished #4thplace at the #region2B #Tourney. As with all things, there were some ups and downs, but at the end of the day, we’re all #grateful we had the opportunity to compete this year. Seniors Luke Heller and Mauricio Ortiz finished 4th, as did sophomore Mason Graber. Senior Clayton Wagoner finished third. All these wrestlers are alternates for the state tournament in 2 weeks. 4 wrestlers have 2 weeks to prepare for their trip to #salemva to compete for a state title. Jaylee Hatcher bumped up to 113 and earned 2nd place. 3 wrestlers, the most in school history, were region champions.
