Pine Bush Varsity Field Hockey came together again for an end-of-season awards banquet, celebrating an exceptional season. Each player was recognized for their contributions to the team this season and to the program over the course of their playing career.
In a thrilling third-quarter surge, Kailey Fobert led the team to a 2-1 victory over Coxsackie-Athens. After a scoreless first half, Fobert broke the deadlock, scoring twice within 27 seconds. Her first goal came off a perfect assist from Jaslenne Ingenito, followed by an unassisted strike to put the team up 2-0.
In an intense double-overtime thriller, Pine Bush secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Pine Plains. Pine Plains struck first, taking a 1-0 lead early on, but Pine Bush responded with determination. Kailey Fobert netted the equalizer in regulation, set up by a well-timed assist from Meaghan Wishinski.
In a dominant 4-0 victory over Our Lady of Lourdes, the team showcased its strength and ability to control the game, particularly in the second half. After a scoreless first half, they turned up the intensity, netting two goals in both the third and fourth quarters. Senior Kailey Fobert had an outstanding performance, recording a hat trick. Her first goal was assisted by Jaslenne Ingenito, the second by Kara Wittenberg, and the third was unassisted. Wittenberg also added a goal of her own, scoring off a corner set up by inserter Leah O’Donnell.
