Lightning overpower Chargers

Lapeer visited Midland Community Stadium to face-off with Midland Dow. QB Landen Rodgers, and the backfield duo of Chance Hargrave and Coltyn Byrnes led the Lapeer offense. The Lapeer Defense blanked Dow with outstanding play from Hunter McCormack (15 tackles, 3 sacks), Preston VanDerWerken (8 tackles, 1 sack, 4 PBUs), Chance Hargrave (Forced Fumble), Trent Norton (Fumble Recovery/scoop-six Touchdown), Ayden Monk-Thrower (1 Interception), and Zach Norton (1 Interception).

Freshman Lightning Football Loses at GB

Freshman Football traveled to Grand Blanc HS to battle the Bobcats on 10/3/24. Lapeer struggled to get anything really going in what was a tough match-up against a very athletic Grand Blanc team that featured a talented Bobcat QB. Grand Blanc scored on their opening possession, but Lapeer marched down the field into the red zone on their own first possession, only to have the drive stalled by a penalty and eventual turnover, resulting in no points. Grand Blanc was able to make some big plays and put points on the board quickly in the first half. Lapeer played hard as always, even without some key players in the lineup. Luke Crochett filled in at Defensive Back and had an interception for the defense in the red zone. Lapeer 9th/JV Football hosts Oak Park at Fitzpatrick Field in Lapeer for their final home game of the season on Thursday 10/10/24. Freshman Football is 4 - 2 on the season.

Back 2 Back WINS vs Saginaw United

Lapeer hosted Saginaw United and this game was ALL Lapeer. Coltyn Byrnes led the scoring attack for Lapeer but it was once again the Lapeer defense shutting down the Saginaw United offense and Special Teams. Lapeer recorded 3 separate defensive Safties and the Lightning offense scored at-will, leading by 5 scores at halftime and playing their reserves in the 2nd half.

Lapeer vs Clarkston

Clarkston filled in on short notice for Lakeland who did not have a freshman team.
