@Lakeview 4 - 2 CCHS
Although the Challenger ladies started a bit sluggish, conceding a goal from a wonderfully taken shot well above the penalty box that sailed into the corner, Cascade did not give up. Jordynn Jones, Aubrey Hess, and Mae Ferreira showed great determination in the midfield area, where much of the battle took place. At times the centerfield was so clustered you'd think Lakeview had extra players on the field, yet somehow the girls controlled the game, found open feet and created opportunities. A ball from our midfielders was played out wide near the 12 minute mark that landed at Sienna Wilcox's feet whose effort was narrowly deflected by a full outstretched diving goalkeeper to win Cascade a corner. Merely 5 minutes later Emma Coats had a breakaway that was broken down by a rushing GK who slid in to take the ball from under her feet. Cascade looked threatening in the first half and solid defensively. A header clearance, with three Honkers around her, from our back post in the 20 minute mark by Amelia Vanlandingham, sent CCHS on a counter attack up the wing with Emma Coats breaking up line. Unfortunately we couldn't convert, in the first half and the Honkers scored two more times from incredible shots that both hit the post and banked into the net.
