The JSerra Girls Soccer team closed out action at the Best in the West Soccer Classic Saturday by splitting their two games.
The Lions (4-1-2) opened the day with a 5-0 victory over Citrus Valley at Bolsa Grande High.
JSerra enjoyed their best goal scoring output of the season, as sophomore Peyton Marinos led the outburst by scoring twice.
Seniors Hannah Puff and Chelsea Loeser, along with junior Bailey Badraun each added a goal.
In their second game of the day, the Lions suffered their first loss of the season, as they fell to Mira Costa 2-1 at Newport Harbor High.
Marinos scored the Lions’ lone goal of the game in the first half.
