The JSerra Girls Soccer team served notice that they will be a force to be reckoned in the battle for the Trinity League title with a resounding 3-0 victory over the Mater Dei Monarchs on Tuesday evening at JSerra High. The Lions won their second straight game and are now 8-3-4 on the season and 2-2-1 in league, handing the Monarchs their first league defeat. JSerra stunned Mater Dei by scoring a trio of goals in the first half. Junior Sydney Schuler was the offensive catalyst, as she tallied well-placed, left-footed shots into the back of the net in both the 17th and 22nd minutes. Senior Hannah Puff added the Lions’ third goal of the half in the 35th minute. Freshman goalie Kai Beary had a strong night in goal, as she produced seven saves.
