The Lady Lions erupted for 5 runs in the first inning against Massac County on Monday. A leadoff homerun by Amayah Doyle set the tone for the rest of the inning. Walks to Kennedy Rushing and Rosenbery were followed up with an infield single by Kayelyn Rice. Senior Shortstop Hunter Noto then came through, driving in 2 runs with a single. Karson Caudill then finished off the outbreak, laying down a perfect Suicide Squeeze to score Rice. In the circle, freshman Caidence Phillips hurled 4.2 innings. Striking out 9 batters and collecting her first career high school win.
