SVSU takes down rival Northwood

SVSU takes down rival Northwood

The home of the Great Lakes Loons in Midland, Michigan housed the Saginaw Valley Cardinals and the Northwood Timberwolves Tuesday night for the third annual Dow Diamond Classic. The game between these two at Dow Diamond has not always gone off without a hitch. The games were cancelled in 2011 and 2022 due to weather, and 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the April air was chilly, there wasn't any precipitation and nine innings were played without an issue. Saginaw Valley took the close game with a final score of 5-4 and are now 40-35 against Northwood along with a 3-0 record against the Timberwolves at Dow Diamond.
