Boardman beat Poland on Thursday night 8-4 and won their 4th straight. Boardman was lead by Griffin Widrig and Jason Triveri with 2 hits apiece while Triveri also had 2 RBI’s. Caleb Satterfield also chipped in with 2 hits. Guy Young got the victory on the mound and Seth Cervello closed it out.
Boardman puts together two 6 run innings in the 3rd and 4th to beat the Howland Tigers in 5. Boardman was lead offensively by Jack Dascenzo, Stephen Conti, Gavin Hyde and Colin Thomas. Dascenzo and Conti each had 3 RBI’s while Thomas and Hyde had 2 RBI’s along woth 2 hits. Guy Young got the win on the mound while Jac Cordon came in and shut the door for the Spartans.
The Spartans clinched at least a share of the AAC with their victory over Fitch Wednesday night. Boardman got a huge performance from Griffin Widrig on the mound as he grabbed a complete game shutout. Griffin had 7K’s and 0 walks. Stephen Conti lead the way offensively with 2 hits. Colin Thomas made a game saving diving catch in centerfield to secure the victory.
The Boardman Spartans grabbed a much needed conferecne win to keep their hopes alive for a league title. Boardman got another great start from Gavin Hyde who went 6 innings only allowing 4 hitsand 1 earned run. He also recorded 5 K’s. Anthiny Butto lead the offensive charge with 3 RBI’s while Seth Cervello and Luke Leonard both added 2 big RBI’s.
