Buena at Ventura JV Recap

The JV Buena Bulldogs visited the Ventura High Cougars for a rivalry showdown. Tight End Jordan Watts sparked the bulldogs offense with multiple big catches in the first half while running back Quinn Linker contributed largely to the downhill run game for the dogs. Defensively, new starting safety Erick Guzman recorded several tough open field solo tackles. Defensive Tackle Moises Lantigua also motivated the Bulldogs with his competitive play throughout the game. The Bulldogs fell to the Cougars 42-6 but hope to bounce back this week against the Cabrillo High Conquistadors.

Bulldogs hold off San Marcos

The JV Buena Bulldogs visited the San Marcos Royals for their 3rd Pacific View League contest. The offense was led by Quarterback Eddie Kaylor who had his best passing performance yet throwing multiple touchdowns to Tight End Jordan Watts. The Bulldog defense also played exceptionally well with the help of Cole Batten who made big plays in the first half including a sack in the second quarter. Safety Cuyler Steinbock made the play of the night defensively breaking the Royals 2 point pass attempt to seal the 20-19 victory for the Bulldogs. The JV Bulldogs will travel to Ventura High School for a rivalry showdown.

Bulldogs vs Pirates Recap

The JV Buena Bulldogs hosted the Santa Ynez Pirates for their second league game. The Bulldog offense was spearheaded by running backs Quinn Linker and Trevor McCormick who contributed multiple touchdowns for the Dogs. Defensively, linemen Caleb Jones and Adrian Martinez provided great aggressive play needed for the defense, recording multiple tackles for loss and forcing a second half turnover. The JV Bulldogs lost the game 49-25 but look to bounce back this week as they are on the road to face the San Marcos Royals.

JV Bulldogs break through vs Channel Islands

The JV Buena Bulldogs opened league play by hosting the Channel Islands Raiders. New Bulldog Vinny Barrios made his impact on offense by scoring the first touchdown of the game. Jordan Watts also contributed to the offense with a touchdown of his own along with some key blocks for the Bulldogs running backs. For the Bulldogs defense, linebacker Xavier Cervantes assisted on multiple tackles in his first start for the dogs. Fellow linebacker, Owen Stiles, provided support in the second half for the Bulldogs including 3 consecutive tackles on a Raiders drive in the fourth quarter. The JV Bulldogs beat the Raiders 34-0 and are looking forward to their next league opponent, the Santa Ynez Pirates.
