Wildcats survive a closely contested game to stay in the hunt for CIF

It was a closely contested game where the point differential that separated the teams at the end of each quarter was only 2 points. Going into the final 30 seconds of the game the Wildcats had a 3 point lead (60-57) over the Braves. However, the Braves had been shooting well from the 3 point line and with 9 seconds left on the clock, the Braves scored a 3 pointer to tie the game. The Wildcats knew they were in a must win situation where great teamwork help them to prevail. With only 7 seconds left on the clock, Aiden Chan in-bounded the ball to Dylan Grajeda on the wing, who quickly found Tyler Kam slashing thru the middle, who quickly drove the length of the court with indications that he was going to drive to the basket, pulling 3 defenders with him and allowing him to find Noah Tsai on the Wing, who then drove the baseline for the game winning basket.

Wildcats suffer another loss

After losing their first match up with Covina by only a few points in a closely contested game, the Wildcats were expecting to do better this time around and take the W. Unfortunately, the Wildcats continued to struggle with their offense, generating only 15 points by half-time to Covina's 35. The Wildcats shot only 18% from the 3 pt line, while Covina excelled, shooting 47%. Additionally the Wildcats were out rebounded 18 to 39. If the Wildcats expect to contend, they are going to need to fix these issues.

Wildcats start the game too slow

The Wildcats got out to a slow start, in a low scoring game. They put themselves in a hole at half-time 25-16 (yes they generated only 16 points of offense in the 1st half). They came close to overcoming their deficit in the 2nd half, tying the game 41 - 41 with under 2 minutes left, but lost of focus in the final minutes, and failed to capitalize on San Dimas turnovers, costing themselves the game.

Wildcats Suffer a Tough Loss due to a Bad Call by the Referee

A toughly contested game where the lead exchange between teams was never more than 4 points. Wilson Wildcats were up 56 to 55 with 17 seconds, and poised to win. Wildcat Isaiah Espinoza set himself in the perfect position to take a charge and end the game, but instead the referee incomprehensibly calls him for blocking, counts Covina's basket, and give sends Covina's player to the free throw line, putting Covina up by 2. On the subsequent play Wilson tries to take the lead, but misses it's 3 pointer, and the referees make another unfavorable call against the Wildcats. Tyler Kam is called for a foul on an offensive rebound that should have been a jump ball. Instead Covina is back on the free throw line and the Wildcats fate is sealed.
