The make up, make up meet scheduled for Thursday was again a wash out.
Sniffing our their prey began early for the Golden Tigers as the aromas emminating from the Martinsburg Complex led the Tigers to their destination. The lady Tigers, down a few members due to an FBLA Trip weren't as hampered as were the guys, who were defeated by Central. The boys were without 8 key points garnering members, who had of been there, the score would've been in the Tigers favor. Emily Clapper again led the ladies garnering 4 wins, Long Jump, Triple Jump, 400M and a leg on the 4x400 team.
The 47th edition (Coach T’s 41st including his high school days) definitely lived up t9 the name as Mother Nature again proved herself a worthy opponent of Spring Sports in PA. An overcast, windy and cold day greeted the Tigers and the others at Mansion Park. On the girls side, no overall event winners but many PR’s set along with seasons bests. Place winners today include Emily Clapper 2nd in the 400, 3rd in Long Jump, 6th in the Triple Jump and a 3rd in the 1600M Relay along with team members Aubree Waksmonski, Katie Steiner and Sophia Moyer. 4x800 Relay of Rylan Carney, Katie Etters, Nora Statler and Nora Stanek 4th. 4x100 Relay Drew Kordish, Anna Statler, Aubree Waksmonski and Elizabeth Frazier 4th. Elizabeth Frazier 100m 4th, 200m 4th. The meet with Central, Chestnut Ridge and Johnstown will be the first of 2 4 team meets this week. The Tigers haven't run at Central in quite a long time. Looking forward to the trip to the Cove. Central's Throw coach, Mrs Baker, is a current PE teacher at Holbg and a former Golden Tiger Throws Coach.
