Vanden loses despite out hitting Fairfield
Vanden fell to Fairfield on Monday despite out-hitting 11 hits to seven. Isaiah Shahan collected four hits in four at-bats in the loss. Shahan singled in the first inning driving in two runs, singled in the third innings, fifth inning, and in the seventh inning. Vanden led 2-0 after the top half of the first inning, but Fairfield responded with 3 in the bottom half. Vanden tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a single by Shahan and would later score on a sacrifice fly by Cayne Hill.
