JV Girls Concede 3 Goals to Newbury Park
JV girls left it all out on the field—blood, sweat, and tears—but ended up conceding 3 late goals against Newbury Park. Aubrey McDermott had 9 saves and the defense led by Maya Dyer, Izzy Schneider, Julia Santos, McKenna Barbettini, Kena Schlimgen, Helena Rieckewald-Schmidt, and Lylette Scott closed down the attack. Newbury Park managed to sneak a few over the top and countered to score, but the Scorps midfield made up of Marilyn Montano, Carisa Legaspi-Gutierrez, Hailey Tapking, and Cielo Medina dominated possession. Up top, Mia Zarate, Sophia Rossell, Stella Alessi, Kylie Satterlee, and Emily Barajas worked creatively but were unable to put the ball in the back of the net. The final score does not represent the heart that the girls played with and they look to bounce back against Oaks Christian on Monday night!
