Vikings headed to CIF NorCal D4 Finals!

The Vanden Boys Volleyball team will be playing for the CIF NorCal D4 Championship Saturday at 6pm. The #2 NorCal seeded Vikings defeated #3 St Joseph Notre Dame Pilots 3-1 (25-23, 19-25, 25-18, 25-23) and will advance to play at the #1 seed Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose, CA. Setter Tavas Spencer spread the offense around with 45 assists to go with his 4 blocks and 3 digs. Outside Hitter Christian Ting led the attacks with 16 kills along with 6 digs. Libero Dylan Hoang logged 13 digs. Middle Blocker Willian Iheanacho had 13 kills and 3 blocks. Oppo Dallas Pabon had 12 kills.

Vikings advance to the SJS Semifinals with 3-1 win over Ripon Chrisian

The Vanden boys' volleyball team defeated Ripon Christian 3-1 (21-25,25-18,25-14,25-22) Tuesday to advance to the SJS semifinal match. OH Christian Ting had a huge game with 8 aces, 20 kills, and 3 digs. Libero Dylan Hoang led the Vikings defense with 6 digs and solid serve receive all game to go with his 2 aces. Fist year player, Dallas Pabon had an efficient night with 9 kills. Setter Tavas Spencer spread the offense around with 35 assists along with 5 digs. The #2 SJS seed Vikings host the #3 seed Lathrop Spartans Thursday at 6pm with the winner advancing to the Section Championship on Saturday.

Vanden advances in SJS Playoffs

The Vikings boys volleyball team has advanced to the 2nd round of the SJS Division 3 playoffs with a win over visiting Casa Robles 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-20). Jr Setter Tavas Spencer spread the offense around with 32 assists to go with his 3 blocks, 5 digs and ace. Sr OH Christian Ting had an efficient night hitting with 9 kills on 15 attempts and only 2 errors. Middle Blocks WIlliam Iheanacho and Ifeanyi Onwuazombe also had an efficient night with 7 and 8 kills respectively. Sr Opp hitter, Dallas Pabon had a great night on the right side with 8 kills and only 2 errors. The #2 seeded Vikings will host #7 Ripon Christian next Tuesday at 6pm.

Vanden finish league play with 3-2 victory over McClatchy

The Vikings boys volleyball team finished league play with a 3-2 (23-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-11, 15-13) win over McClatchy. Vanden improves to 11-3 in league play and 22-11 overall. Next week the Vikings will be starting the SJS playoffs riding an 8 game win streak. Jr setter Tavas Spencer had 46 assists. Sr OH Christian Ting had 17 kills and 8 digs. Sr Oppo Dallas Pabon made some critical plays in the fifth set and put away the game with his last kill. He hit .625 with 6 kills, 1 error. Sr libero Dylan Hoang led the team in digs with 14.
