The Hannegan brothers each enjoyed banner performances for the JSerra Wrestling team at the Western Pioneer Rumble Saturday at Western High. Senior Kilian Hannegan claimed first place in the 152lb weight class. Hannegan posted an undefeated record of 5-0, with two victories coming by fall. He won the first-place match over Landon Hernandez of Santiago High of Corona by decision (9-5) after trailing early in the match. Hannegan earned 28 team points for the Lions. Sophomore Finnian Hannegan placed third at 145lbs, winning four of his five matches (two by fall). He won his third-place match over Stone Fightmaster of San Clemente via a second-round fall, after Fightmaster defeated Hannegan by decision (2-0) in the quarterfinals. Hannegan’s third place finish earned 25 points for JSerra. Junior Foster Andersen won four of his six matches at 165lbs by fall, earning 13 team points. JSerra finished with 70 team points and finished 17th overall in the team standings with over 30 teams competing.
