The JSerra Baseball team closed out the Boras Baseball Classic with an offensive bang, as the Lions dismantled the San Dimas Saints, 10-1, on Friday night at JSerra Catholic High School.
JSerra pounded out 11 hits to finish the tournament with three wins in four games.
The Lions have now won seven of their last eight games overall and are 11-6-1 on the season.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of second inning, JSerra’s bats erupted over the next three innings, as the Lions scored nine runs.
Senior Charlie Caruso was the offensive catalyst, as he went 3-for-4, including a three-run home run and an RBI double.
In addition to his four runs batted in, Caruso also scored two runs.
Sophomore Takashi Rutherford collected two hits in three at-bats, driving in a run with a single and scoring a run.
Fellow sophomore Blake Bowen drove in two runs with an RBI double and a sacrifice fly.
Junior Gavin Flores scored twice and produced an RBI single.
Junior Josh Hollis was strong on the mound for the Lions, pitching 5.2 innings and allowing only one earned run and three hits, while striking out five Saints batters.
