The JSerra Boys Basketball team closed out an undefeated week with another hard-fought triumph, as the Lions defeated St. Augustine High of San Diego 54-48 on Saturday afternoon at the Nike Extravaganza at Mater Dei High.
JSerra has now won four straight games and improves to 22-4 on the season.
Senior Aidan Fowler scored a team-high 18 points, while senior Sebastian Rancik added 14 points and five rebounds.
JSerra trailed by four at halftime, but held the Saints to nine points in the third quarter to take 37-36 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Fowler and Rancik once again came through down the stretch on the offensive end, scoring 14 of the team’s 17 points in the final quarter to help the Lions close out the victory.
JSerra limited St. Augustine to only 37 percent shooting from the field and 27 percent from the three-point line.
