The JSerra Girls Water Polo team completed an undefeated run to the Open Division championship of the Warriors Winter Classic Saturday at JSerra High.
After defeating El Segundo and Camarillo on Friday, the Lions started Day 2 action with a 14-6 victory over La Serna High.
Senior Zoe Gabriel and sophomore Sloane Paulson steered the offensive for the Lions, as each scored five goals.
JSerra clashed with Mater Dei (B) in the championship game, and after trailing by a goal at halftime, the Lions outscored the Monarchs 6-3 in the second half to win 9-7.
Senior Sydney Chapman scored a team-leading four goals, with Gabriel adding three goals, and sophomore Kamryn McCord scoring twice.
