The JSerra Girls Basketball team wins the first CIF-SS championship in school history, as the Lions defeat St. Margaret's 43-30 in the CIF-SS Division 3A title game Saturday at Edison High! It was a battle of defenses in the first half, with the Tartans holding a 17-12 lead at the halftime. The Lions began to find their offensive groove in the third quarter by getting to the basket and hitting their free throws. Freshman Shae Talleur’s put back at the quarter buzzer gave the Lions their first lead of the game at 26-25. JSerra would not relinquish the advantage, as their defense held the Tartans to only five points in the quarter. Freshman Rosie Santos led the Lions with 15 points, seven assists, and six steals. Freshman Addie Nolan scored 12 points and added four steals. Junior Lindsay Tambwe grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.
