The JSerra Girls Volleyball team continued its’ winning ways on Saturday with two match victories at the 2024 Tesoro Championships at Aliso Niguel High. The Lions began their triumphant showing by rallying past San Clemente High in a tight battle 28-30, 25-19, 15-13. Sophomore Katherine Nowak supplied team-highs in kills (15), digs (16), and aces (4). Junior Charlotte Nowak chipped in with 10 kills, while junior Catherine Beadles totaled 25 assists. JSerra enjoyed a more comfortable victory in their second match of the day, as they swept past M.L. King of Riverside 25-15, 25-10. Charlotte Nowak led the Lions with seven kills, while Katherine Nowak had six kills. Junior Ava Ziegler and sophomore Makayla Ziegler each had five kills. Beadles and sophomore Layla Myers combined for 22 assists, while junior Paloma Wilkinson had a team-best three aces. JSerra will now play in the tournament semifinals on Monday at 5 p.m. at Tesoro High, when they take on South Torrance.
