The JSerra Girls Basketball team nearly pulled off a stirring rally to get their first league win of the season, but saw those hopes dashed at the buzzer, as Rosary edged the Lions 61-58 on Tuesday night at Rosary High. JSerra is now 18-5 overall on the season. After trailing by double digits in the first half, the Lions battled back throughout the second half and tied the contest at 58-58 on a three-point shot by freshman Shae Talleur with 12.3 seconds left in regulation. But on the Royals ensuring possession, Kaiya Watties dialed up a three-pointer from the top of the arc that fell through the net as the clock ticked to triple zeros for the win. Freshman Eden Hoff scored a team-high 16 points for JSerra, while also collecting six rebounds. Talleur scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Freshman Rosie Santos tallied 14 points, and added six rebounds, six assists, and three blocks. Freshman Addie Nolan scored 10 points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.
