The JSerra Boys Water Polo team got back into the victory column on Thursday evening, as the Lions knocked off the Loyola Cubs, 11-7 in a nonleague game at JSerra Catholic High School.
The win improved the Lions to 8-1 on the season.
JSerra got off to a quick start in the first period, as junior Tyler Anderson converted a penalty shot less than two minutes into the game for a 1-0 lead.
Senior Taylor Bell extended the Lions advantage with three consecutive goals in a 2:29 span in the first quarter to make it 4-0.
Anderson, junior Connor Colman, and senior Dalton Haggard each found the back of the net in the second period to help the Lions to a 7-3 lead at halftime.
Bell effectively put the game out of reach less than three minutes into the third period, scoring twice in a 22 second span to extend the Lions’ lead to 9-3.
Senior Colt Bradley and sophomore Porter Birdsall capped the Lions’ scoring output with a goal apiece.
Junior goalie Jonas Ransford collected seven saves.
