The JSerra Girls Water Polo team extended its winning streak to nine consecutive games with a 5-3 victory over Dos Pueblos High in Day 2 action from the Southern California Championships Friday evening at Foothill High.
The Lions are now 13-5 overall on the season.
JSerra and Dos Pueblos were tied 2-2 at half in a defensive struggle, before the Lions outscored Dos Pueblos 3-1 in the second half to seal the victory.
Sophomore Sloane Paulson scored twice for the Lions, while senior Zoe Gabriel, junior Payton Netherton, and freshman Victoria Williams also added individual goals.
Lions sophomore goalie Sayre Duran was also strong in goal to help seal the victory.
“The girls played amazing defense all night and never stopped working hard” Lions coach Natalie Seidemann said. “We communicated on defense and worked hard to score on an amazing goalie.”
“Everyone did a great job tonight.”
