The JSerra Girls Basketball team impressively took down another opponent on the road Saturday night, as the Lions dispatched the Huntington Beach Oilers 69-37 in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 3A playoffs at Huntington Beach High. JSerra is now 20-9 on the season and will host Oakwood in the quarterfinal round on Wednesday night. Fueled by their defense, the Lions raced to a 21-5 advantage at the end of the first quarter and pushed the lead to 22 points by the end of the first half. Freshman Rosie Santos spearheaded the decisive victory, shooting 7-of-11 from the field and scoring a team-high 18 points. Santos was also stellar on the defensive end, producing a game-high eight steals. Freshman Addie Nolan added 13 points and dished out a team-best five assists. Freshman Eden Hoff scored 12 points and collected five rebounds, while freshman Shae Talleur chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds. Freshman Katherine Nowak was stellar on the boards, grabbing a team-high 13 rebounds.
