The JSerra Rugby team produced another dominant showing this weekend, as the Lions posted three victories to run their season record to 12-0. JSerra collected victories over Tesoro (24-14), Francis Parker (35-0), and View Park (29-0). The Lions' perfect record has them currently ranked No. 1 in the HS7 Division of the SoCal Youth Rugby League. JSerra will take its undefeated record into their next outing on Friday evening, when they take on St. Anthony’s (currently ranked No. 2), Edison, and Lakewood at Edison High. The action is scheduled to begin at 6:40 p.m. Lions head coach Nick Sarris is excited for the team’s fantastic start, but knows that they will be tested. “We have a big match against St. Anthony’s next week, so we can’t celebrate too much,” Sarris said. “Many coaches in the league believe St. Anthony’s is the best team in the league, so we have to come in mentally prepared, and ready for a physical match."
