The JSerra Boys Swimming team produced a pair of historic relay efforts at the CIF-SS Division 1 Finals Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
The quartet of sophomore Nolan Baker, senior Tas Palcza, junior Taylor Bell, and sophomore Connor Colman impressively set a new school record in the 400 free relay, as they clocked a time of 3:02.79, which was good for third place in the competition.
That time also bettered the automatic state qualifying time and the All-American automatic time standards.
Baker, Bell, junior Dalton Haggard, and Colman registered a third-place finish in the 200 free relay in a school record time of 1:23.17.
That clocking was also an automatic state qualifying time and an All-American automatic time.
Baker also produced automatic state qualifying times in both the 50 free (20.88) and the 100 free (45.76) championship finals, as he finished fifth and ninth respectively.
The Lions tallied 181 team points in their fourth place showing.
