The JSerra Boys Basketball team celebrated Senior Night by getting back in the win column, as the Lions ran past Verbum Dei Jesuit High of Los Angeles 78-42 Saturday night at JSerra High.
JSerra improves to 19-4 on the season.
The night belonged to 10 senior Lions players who were honored before the game.
The Lions led by two points early in the second quarter, but closed on a 17-5 run to take a 41-25 halftime lead.
JSerra’s defense held the Eagles to seven points in third quarter, as the Lions took firm control with a 60-32 lead at the end of the period.
Senior Sebastian Rancik scored a team-high 12 points, while senior Ben Rabara added 10.
Seniors Giovanni Cozzetto and Drew Bowman each added nine points, while senior Jack Dawson grabbed a team-best six rebounds.
