The JSerra Girls Water Polo team continued their sizzling play by extending their season-best winning streak to seven consecutive games with a strong 16-3 victory over the Mira Costa Mustangs on Saturday morning at JSerra High.
The Lions are now 11-5 on the season.
JSerra scored five goals in both the first and second period to seize control of the contest and take a 10-2 lead into intermission.
Sophomore Kamryn McCord tallied a team-leading six goals.
Sophomore Sloane Paulson scored three goals, with seniors Sydney Chapman and Zoe Gabriel adding two goals apiece.
Sophomore Gabby Elbaz, junior Mary O’Hara, and freshman Victoria Williams each scored a goal.
Chapman and sophomore goalie Sayre Duran (seven saves) were the defensive catalyst for the Lions that helped limit the Mustangs offense throughout the contest.
