Coach Fair is an accomplished and dedicated wrestling coach with a passion for developing athletes both on and off the mat. With 20 years of coaching experience, Coach Fair has successfully guided wrestlers to reach their full potential and excel in the sport. As the son of an accoladed High School Wrestling Coach, Coach Fair started wrestling in Elyria at the age of 5. In High School Coach Fair was a 4yr Wrestling Letterman, Captain of his team, Ohio State Qualifier, and is on the Vermilion Wrestling Wall of Fame. Coach Fair also represented the State of Ohio in the 1993 Junior National Championships in Fargo, ND. Hired in 2016 as the Head Wrestling Coach at Douglas High, Coach Fair has built a strong program known for its commitment to excellence, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Under his leadership, the team has consistently achieved outstanding results, awards, and individual accolades. Including the NNWOA Team Sportsmanship Award in 2019-2020 and 2022-2023 Seasons. With a deep understanding of the sport's technical aspects, Coach Fair employs a comprehensive coaching approach that focuses on skill development, physical conditioning, and mental preparation. He believes in instilling discipline, perseverance, and a strong work ethic in each athlete, creating a culture of continuous improvement and personal growth. Beyond the mat, Coach Fair places great emphasis on academic success and character development. He encourages wrestlers to excel in the classroom, promoting the importance of balancing their athletic pursuits with their educational responsibilities. Coach Fair also serves as a mentor, guiding athletes to become well-rounded individuals who exhibit integrity, respect, and leadership both in and out of the wrestling room. Throughout Coach Fair's coaching career, he has had the privilege of coaching wrestlers of all ages and skill levels. His expertise extends from working with novice wrestlers to refining the techniques of advanced competitors. Coach Fair has a proven track record of nurturing young talents and helping them progress through the ranks, preparing them for success at high school and on to the collegiate levels. Coach Fair is an Accredited Interscholastic Coach with NFHS and Bronze Certified with USAW. He continues to expand his knowledge of the sport by attending coaching clinics, staying updated on the latest training methods, and networking with other experienced coaches in the wrestling community. As a wrestling coach, Coach Fair is not only dedicated to developing exceptional athletes but also passionate about shaping the lives of the individuals he works with.
