Somerton Toros win big over Southwest to remain undefeated at home!

The Somerton Toros won big against Southwest High School at home on Wednesday night! The run game was clicking and our boys' upfront were able to open up some running lanes for both Jose Polino (179 rushing, 3 TDs) and Diego Felix (59 yards rushing, 1 TD). Diego was also 5 for 5 on PATs with 1 28-yard Field Goal attempt sailing just wide. Defensively, the Toros were able to hold Southwest to just 75 total of offense. 17 yards passing and 58 yards rushing, with only run accounting for 43 of those yards! Andres Soto also had a 36-yard interception returned for a touchdown! Great job on both sides of the ball by our Toros! Join us next week as we take on the Calexico Bulldogs!

Somerton Toros go down against Benjamin Franklin

Our Somerton Toros couldn't overcome mistakes this week losing 20-0 against Benjamin Franklin High School in Queen Creek. However, defense was able to shutout the Chargers the second half of the game defensively. The Toros look to get back on their winning ways next against Southwest High School fro El Centro, CA at home!

Toros continue to defend the House with a strong victory against Yuma High School!

The Somerton Toros continued their efforts to remain undefeated at home this week against Yuma High School. The Toros came to play, with the defense racking up multiple sacks and tackles for a loss from their defensive line and Linebacker core, defeating Yuma 27 - 14. Yuma High was successful in putting the ball in the endzone on two broken plays from the Toros defense, but ultimately the Toros' offensive was able to outperform Yuma High with multiple Touchdowns from Jesus Valenzuela, Jose Polino and Diego Felix (2). Diego was also successful on 3 of 4 PAT attempts!

Toros tally first loss of the season to Dysart Demons

Somerton Toros Football took their first loss of the season against the Dysart Demons in El Mirage. The Toros gave a valiant effort defensively in teh first half but ultimately couldn't put the ball in the endzone against a bigger team of Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors. Injuries of key players hindered the Toros during the game but that did not stop the fight! the Toros look to bounce back next week against the Yuma Criminals next week at home.
