The Tomahawk baseball season came to an end on the road Tuesday (5/30), falling in a WIAA Regional Semifinal, 6-2 at Phillips.
Tomahawk kept their season alive heading into the Memorial Day weekend with a road playoff win against three-seed Clayton/Turtle Lake, 6-5 on Thursday (May 25).
The Tomahawk baseball team put one in the win column ahead of the playoffs on Monday (May 22), defeating visiting Tigerton, 15-5 in five innings on senior night.
Mosinee traveled to Tomahawk on May 4th and were able to open the game with three in the first. Unlike Wednesday, however, the Hatchets were able to hang around for awhile, going into the bottom of the fifth down, six-nothing before breaking through for two runs. Tomahawk loaded the bases with nobody out - then with one out, Addison Peissig had an infield hit to drive in Cooper Hetzel, who doubled to lead off the inning. Monty Framke scored on the same play which included an Indian error. Mosinee was able to avoid further damage when Drew Tollefson grounded out to end the inning.
