Rochester, MI — The Rochester Adams Highlanders celebrated their homecoming game by beating the Seaholm Maples 35-0, bringing their record to 5-0.
Colin Timko kicked off for the Highlanders and the coverage team came out hitting with two big tackles on a single play. Braedy Limke delivered a big hit on the kick returner at the 20-yard line, causing a fumble, then the Maples picked up the fumble only to be stopped by Max Cibor. Seaholm starts with the ball from their own 19-yard line.
On first down, Seaholm gains three on the ground with a gang tackle from Tait Picot, Rocco Orsini and Brady Prieskorn. Picot again makes the stop on second down after a gain of five. On third down, Orsini makes the tackle, but the Maples reach the yard of gain for a first down. A penalty on the Highlanders brings up first and five at the 36-yard line. The Maples attempt a pitch-out but are tackled for a loss by Griffin Henke, with help from Alex DeGrieck and Parker Picot. Luke Stockoski makes a tackle on a short run up the middle. A penalty on the Maples makes it third and eight, and they pick up five yards on a sweep to the left, with the tackle by Marco DiCresce.
Seaholm earns a big gain on the ground on fourth and three, running the ball down to the Highlander 42-yard line, with Joey Shallow on the tackle. A gain of three on the first down is met with a tackle by Tait Picot, Henke and Prieskorn. A second-down run gains only one yard, with Hassan Murray and Orsini stopping the ball carrier for a short gain. Murray clogs the middle again on third down allowing Tait Picot and Orsini to make the tackle after a two-yard gain. The Maples pick seven yards on the fourth-down play with Joey Shallow knocking the ball carrier out at the 30-yard line, bringing up first and ten.
On the next play, DiCresce applies pressure to the QB, resulting in an errant pitch-out and Prieskorn recovers the fumble. The Highlanders create the turnover and get the ball from the 27-yard line with 5:36 left in the first quarter.
On offense, Parker Picot keeps the ball for a two-yard gain and Christian Schomer gains another two. Parker Picot breaks a long run with only the end zone stopping him, but the gain is brought back on a holding call. The Highlanders still have enough for the first down from the 41-yard line. After a Picot gain of three on the ground, they take to the air on second, when Picot completes a long pass to Shallow for a gain of 38 yards. With first and ten from the 22-yard line, there is a penalty, then a four-yard gain by Parker Picot on first down. After an incomplete pass on second down, Picot takes to the air again finding Max Cibor for the 18-yard TD reception. Touchdown Highlanders! With 1:32 left to play in the first quarter, Timco’s kick sails into the end zone for a touch back. The Maples start the drive at the 20-yard line. A two-yard gain on first down meets a tackle by Orsini, who then teams up with DeGrieck to make the stop on second down. Seaholm picks up seven on third down, with a tackle by Parker Picot, but they get a fresh set of downs at the 30-yard line. After a penalty, it’s first and 15, with a score of 7-0 to end the first quarter.
The Maples pick up 30 on a middle screen play, and it’s Tait Picot with the tackle at the 50-yard line.
Paterra makes the tackle on first down after a pick-up of two and Orsini on the tackle for second down. On third and seven, Seaholm’s run is stopped just short by Paterra and Christian Schomer, bringing up fourth and one from the 41-yard line. Henke tackles the QB, after a gain of three and it’s first down from the 38.
Parker Picot gets the first-down tackle after a three-yard run; a tackle by Orsini brings up third down; and Picot makes another big tackle for a loss. After a penalty, the Maples elect to punt on fourth and long, bringing the ball to the Highlander two-yard line.
With 6:47 left in the half, Adams has first and ten with 98 yards to go. A miscue on first down results in no gain; Parker runs the ball; and on third down, Henke bounces around to the outside to pick up seven yards and the first down. With the ball spotted at the 15, the Highlanders air attack begins. Parker Picot completes a long pass to Max Cibor for a 50-yard gain. After an incomplete pass and a short gain by Shallow, the Highlanders face third and eight from the 32-yard line. Picot scrambles his way inside the 15-yard line for a first and ten at the 14. After a short gain by Henke, the Highlanders go back to the air as Parker Picot completes the TD pass to Brady Prieskorn. Timko’s kick is good. Rochester Adams 14 - Seaholm 0
With just over two minutes left to play in the half, Damarcus Rouse and Tait Picot combine to make the tackle on the kickoff at the 22. The first-down run is held to no gain with a tackle from Orsini. The Maples gain seven on second down, with Henke on the stop. A third-down tackle by DiCresce at the 42-yard line is followed by another DiCresce stop, but Seaholm has first and 10 at our 47. Broder Kawa makes the tackle on first down, limiting the ball carrier to four yards with the clock winding down and 30 seconds left in the half. The Maples’ second-down pass attempt is incomplete with DiCresce on the coverage. On third down, Seaholm runs the ball and lets the clock run out as the final tackle of the half is made by Tait Picot.
The half-time score is 14-0 with the Highlanders leading. Congratulations to Luke Stockoski and Marco DiCresce, representing the team on the homecoming court.
To start the second half, Rouse returns the kick all the way, but it’s brought back for a Highlander penalty. Starting from the 11-yard line, Picot runs for 13 giving the Highlanders a first down. Picot keeps the ball again, gaining seven, and then picks up the first down on the next play. From the 36, Picot completes a pass to Shallow, moving the ball into Maple territory and picking up the first down. From the 44-yard line, Henke runs up the middle for eight yards, and following an incomplete pass, he gets another four for the first down. Shallow picks up six yards, then an incomplete pass, then Henke gets a five-yard run on third and four for a first down.
With the ball at the 20, a quick pass from Picot to Cibor is complete for six yards. The second-down pass is complete to Schomer, who makes some nifty moves to get the ball inside the 5-yard line to set up first and goal for the Highlanders. On first down, DiCresce runs the ball to the left side for the TOUCHDOWN, with great blocks on the left side by Shallow, Andrew Rolfs, and Finn Tobiczyk. Timko’s PAT is good. Great job on the line, with Rolfs, Tobicyk, Nick Stokan, Orsini, and DeGrieck again getting the job done. Rochester Adams 21 – Seaholm 0
With 4:25 remaining in the third quarter, Rouse and John Rittner combine to make the tackle on the kick return and Seaholm starts the drive at the 27-yard line. DeGrieck and Henke make the stop on first down, for a gain of only two. Tait Picot limits the second-down play to two yards with a big hit in the middle. On third and six, the Maples’ run is stopped for a short gain with Tait Picot and Kawa making the tackle for no gain. The fourth-down punt is fielded at the 35, with 2:25 left in the third quarter.
After an incomplete pass on three downs, Tait Picot’s punt is downed at the 25-yard line. The Maples pick up two yards, with Finn Tobiczyk making the stop. On second down, Parker Picot comes up to make a tackle in the back field, pushing Seaholm back to the 21. The Maples get the first down with a 19-yard run down to the 38-yard line. Paterra and DiCresce make the first-down tackle after a gain of five and the second down is stopped for no gain by Tait Picot and Orsini to end the third quarter.
To start the final quarter, Kawa and Parker Picot combine for a tackle after Seaholm picks up a first down at the 49-yard line. DiCresce and Stokan combine for the tackle on first down after a gain of four, and Rolfs stops the ball carrier for no gain on second down. On third and six, Finn Tobiczyk and Orsini hold the Maples to a short loss, bringing up a fourth-down punt, which is blocked by Tanner Buck, and recovered by Kori Pelayo.
With 10 minutes left to play in the game, the Highlanders have first and ten at the Seaholm 42-yard line. With Paterra in at QB, the hand-off to Schomer is stopped for a gain of one. Paterra picks up two, and a penalty on Seaholm makes it third and short. Highlanders get the first down on a run by Schomer out to the 30-yard line. Paterra’s pass to DiCresce on first down falls incomplete, and Henke gets a short gain on second down. On third down Paterra completes the pitch and goes to Will Krol for a 29-yard TD. Timko’s kick is good. It’s Rolfs, Orsini, Stokan, Tobiczyk and Murray on the o-line for the touchdown drive. Rochester Adams 28 – Seaholm 0
With 6:54 to play in the game, there’s a touchback on the Timko kick, giving Seaholm first and ten from the 20. Murray limits the first-down run to a one-yard gain, and Stockoski stops the runner for no gain bringing up third and nine. Ryan Kevelighan blows through the line to make the tackle for loss and force another punt. Rouse fields the punt and is tackled after a short return.
Highlanders are first and ten at the Seaholm 49-yard line with 5:01 left to play. Kawa at the QB position hands off on first down to Rouse who picks up a yard. On second down, Jake Sukkar finds room up the middle for a five-yard gain. On third down, DJ Greer breaks the long run 44 yards out for the Highlander TD. Mohid Imran and Damarcus Rouse have big blocks on the left side to give Greer the land.

The clock ticks down, with 3:31 left in the game. Rittner and Sukkar make the tackle on the kick coverage team and the Maples have the ball at the 26. First down is stopped by Creson, for a short gain. Stockoski stops the run on second, bringing up third and eight for Seaholm, and then gets the tackle for loss – forcing a Maples punt.
Rouse fair catches the punt at the 42-yard line and Adams can let the clock run out. Victory for the Highlanders! Final score: Rochester Adams 35 – Seaholm 0
