Rancho Santa Margarita, CA — We took almost a full roster (15 of 18) players to Santa Margarita this afternoon in an extra added, non-league contest giving some of our subs a chance to play 2 full sets. Thanks to all the parents who stepped up to drive (we’ll need some of you this Friday too!) I’d like to thank some of top JV team members who either played once to allow others to get more playing time, as well as those who partnered with some of the less experienced players, helping them with doubles strategy and positioning. MVP honors go to out to the 3 people who won all of their sets played: Kenny Perez (2 for 2), Parker Gibson (1 for 1) and Luke Krolikowski - crushing their line 1 player 6-1 in the opening round before subbing out. Honorable mention today - kudos to Nicholas Barrios who played a very long 2nd round match, getting 4 games off that #1 player up on court 6. That kind of effort wins matches and championships when matches end up being tied 9-9. Great job Nick! Next up: League match vs Servite at Fullerton Tennis Center, 2:30pm.
