Easton, PA — Three Pitchers Team Up As The Easton Area Red Rovers Varsity Defeats Pocono Mountain East In Shut-Out
Easton defeated Pocono Mountain East 6-0 on Tuesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jacob Hirner induced a fly out from T Grebb to finish off the game.
Easton Area Red Rovers Varsity got things started in the second inning when Max Squarcia drew a walk, scoring one run.
Justin Johnson earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Easton. He lasted six innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out 11 and walking one. AJ Thomas and Hirner entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
E Schmelz was on the hill for Pocono Mountain East. The bulldog surrendered four runs on four hits over four innings, striking out three. Grebb threw two innings out of the bullpen.
Frank Castrovinci, Isaak Torres, Alex Cameron, Keegan Stem, and Squarcia each collected one hit to lead Easton. Easton did not commit an error.
Grebb led Pocono Mountain East with two hits in four at bats.
