San Juan Capistrano, CA — After dropping a mid-season, extra “non-league” match to the Friars, our JV boys stepped up huge winning our 2nd “real” match vs Servite, again on game count. Missing our top player Luke Krolikowski (who was helping out varsity) and Noah Nguyen, who had AP testing(?), we still did pretty well in singles, winning the first 5 sets played, before adding in other players. Everyone who showed up got to play, which we stuck to for this crazy Covid year, even in league matches! MVP honors to those winning 100% of matches played: Michael Woodward (1 for 1), Kenny Perez (2 for 2) and Marco Belciano (2 for 2). Because we picked up 3 free sets due to their forfeit at #3 doubles, the only other “on court” win was a crucial 3rd round set victory by Nicholas Barrios and Jordan Gessin. So, MVP honors to them for giving us the only win in the 3rd round, and the only on court doubles win of the afternoon. Well done guys. Next up: Trinity League Tournament at SMCHS Wednesday, May 12th.
