Goddard, KS — Goddard Lions Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 5-3 loss to Central on Friday. Central scored on a single by Blackman in the first inning and a single by Bell in the second inning.
Central got things moving in the first inning. Central scored one run when Blackman singled.
Wilson was credited with the victory for Central. The fireballer went five innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out three and walking one. Ronk threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Ronk recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Central.
Jake Shope took the loss for Goddard Lions Varsity. The righty surrendered three runs on seven hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.
