CA — It’s been 2 years since we’ve had a Trinity League match, and our guys showed up hungry to play. Great League opener defeating Mater Dei 13 - 5! MVP honors go to those 100% “clubbers” who won ALL of their sets played today. Top 2 doubles teams both swept: Sean Delaney with Gary Anderson; Aiden German with Nicholas Dubrow. Well done guys. Senior standout and reigning Trinity League champion Danny Day won all 3 sets and Brock Bowman was 2 for 2, both earning MVP honors this afternoon. Brock played what was arguably his best singles match ever on JSerra’s courts. He battled for more than an hour to get a set win against their top player. Check out videos for Brock’s super shank winning service return, which will definitely be in the running for the “Jeffrey” award at the end of the season. Honorable mention to Zach Champine who won his first 2 sets easily and played well against their #1 player, Charlie. Everyone who showed up to play got in today. Coach Keith got to “sub in” as well, while Kirk was recuperating from surgery. “It was a pleasure watching these young men in action, I usually don’t get to watch them compete with the normal “home and away scheduling”...Mater Dei has no JV team this year.
