San Juan Capistrano, CA — Easily one of the strongest programs in the OC, the Foothill Knights lanced the Lions in an all doubles format played on 3 courts while the JV girls were using the other 3. The boys got to play an additional 3 sets, because the first 9 sets didn’t last too long. With 17 boys suited up and a 9 set match, only one player, Luke Krolikowski, was initially assigned to play twice. The 3 extra sets gave 6 other boys a chance to play twice as well. Despite facing some of the fastest serves they will see all year, our boys started playing “2 back” on first serves and having some success on keeping returns away from the net players.
