Vista, CA — The RBV Lady Longhorns nabbed the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Torrey Pines on Tuesday. RBV was down 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Ava Bradford singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs to give RBV the lead for good. In the second inning, RBV got their offense started. Ava Bradford drove in one when she singled and Janae Combs scored from 3rd base. Savannah Coyle was credited with the victory for Longhorns. The southpaw lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out eight. Georgia Bilski took the loss for Torrey Pines. Bilski went six innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, striking out five and walking zero. The Lady Longhorns smacked one home run on the day. Janae Combs went deep in the fourth inning on a line drive over the fence in left field. The Lady Longhorns tallied eight hits on the day. Bradford, Combs and Coyle each had multiple hits for Longhorns. Combs led Longhorns with three hits in three at bats. RBV didn't commit a single error in the field. Bradford had nine chances in the field, the most on the team. The Longhorns improved to 2-0 in league play and 16-3 overall.
