Whittier, CA — The Titans, who just came off a sweep over John Glenn, couldn't keep up with 1st place Cerritos and fell 22-1 on Tuesday.
Rezendez was on the hill for Cerritos. Rezendez surrendered one run on four hits over six innings, striking out 14 and walking zero.
Adrian Hernandez led things off on the pitcher's mound for Pioneer, striking out the first 3 batters against the defending league champs. However, Hernandez surrendered seven runs on two hits in the second inning. Joaquin Trinidad and Nick Garcia entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third innings and two innings respectively.
Tony Beltran, Eddie Delgado, Gabriel Stevens, and Garcia each collected one hit to lead the Titan offense.
Cerritos collected ten hits. Kim, Pugrad, and Chi all managed multiple hits for Cerritos. Kim led Cerritos with three hits in five at bats. Cerritos didn't commit a single error in the field. Gott had the most chances in the field with 14. Cerritos stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. De Leon led the way with two.
Pioneer still holds a two game lead over Artesia and Glenn for the third place spot in the 605 league, putting them in a position to make the playoffs . They will face Cerritos again on Friday for the final matchup of the series between the two teams.
