San Juan Capistrano, CA — JSerra’s DH2 “travel squad” battled for 2.5 hours this afternoon before succumbing to the visiting Cougars of Capistrano High School. This cross town match up was well played, in good spirit and very good sportsmanship with super fan support from parents, grandparents and siblings from both teams - thank you all! Playing an all doubles format gave girls from both teams an opportunity to play 3 full sets. Winning our only 2 sets in the “top half” of the draw were Aubrey “birthday girl” Gibson and Nicole Griffith who defeated their lines 2&3 teams - earning MVP honors today. Shout out to Isabella Birjandi and Natasha Bayrooti who played in the upper half today and came very close to beating those same 2 teams. Good job today. Also earning MVP honors was our line 4 doubles team of Madi Crawford and Kayla Bright who won 2 of 3 sets played as well. Our 5 set victory came from LuLu Hill and Remi Riddle at line #5.
