San Juan Capistrano, CA — Northwood was 30 minutes late and we were chomping at the bit! Waiting to avenge a 8 - 10 loss to them earlier in the season. First round was split 3-3, thanks to a huge tiebreaker win by Macclaine and Bella, 10-8! Second round the same, thanks to a great comeback tiebreaker win by Lauren and Brianna! They were down 2-5 and won 6-5! The Lions, always making it interesting, go to the final set, where we were down 1 - 3, before Natalie and Kayla climbed back into the lead 5-4, but couldn't break serve to avoid the breaker. Natalie and Kayla fought hard but came up 2 points short, 5-7. Had they been able to capture the breaker for a 9-9 overall tie, JSerra would have lost on game count 7- to 80. Takeaway from this season's home and away with Northwood, we have NEVER been this close to them and consistent. They used to own us and those days are OVER! Great job ladies!
