San Juan Capistrano, CA — Again, regardless of a lopsided score, there was some very good tennis played today. Actually, the most lopsided set wins in the top half of the draw were our 2 victories vs their starters: 6-2 and 6-2 on the top 3 courts. All the sets we lost on courts 1,2 & 3 were either tie-breakers (3) or 4-6 and 3-6 (4). All 3 of our teams forced their top team to play hard, earning 4 games twice and 5 once vs them on court #1. There have been times in the years past that the SC frosh / soph matcesh were finished in 90 minutes. MVP kudos to the teams of Anna Solovjev and Samantha Weinberg; and Lauren Smith with Alyssa Allado, who are the ones that pulled off the 6-2 wins. Special shout out to Judianne Kunst and Annie Sherwood who came very close (1 no ad point) of forcing a tie-breaker vs their #1 team. Next up: Friday Sept. 27th home (rematch) vs Northwood. 3pm.
